2017 "polarity" pinot noir
Integrated and delicate, the nose is a whispered poem of aromas; smoke, cherry, clove, forest floor, fresh sawn wood. Though sleek, the entry soon gives way to the wine’s concentration. The mid-palate is a dense array of flavors: creamy black cherry, red plum skin and pomegranate oscillate with dusty earth, herb and wood. Supple yet buoyant, the wine’s structure finds resolution between the extremes of heavy and light. Just as the mid rises from the entry, it tapers back to a pinpoint finish of focused black fruit with a hint of exotically fragrant resin. This vintage red wine successfully asserts our point; beauty thrives in the space between extremes.
